Our Approach

Free Introductory Meeting

Any prospective client is welcome to arrange for a one hour introductory meeting at which we may broadly discuss the nature of the legal matter, the prospective legal action desired, the timelines involved, the desired outcome of the case, the expected cost to the client, and whether PALaw can assist the prospective client in this matter.  This one hour introduction is without charge.

If your particular problem can be resolved without a lawyer, you will be directed on how to get the help you need.

Routine Communication

Unneccessary solicitor/client communication results in higer costs to the client.

Comnmunication will be scheduled on a regular basis, typically once a week when the case is active and once a month when the case is less so.  Urgent and time sensitive matters will be communicated to the client immediately.

The primary method of solictor/client communication will be through email, though phone calls and other methods may be used where appropriate.

Client Assistance

PALaw is prepared to carry out any preparation and evidence gathering required to bring a case to fruition. However any work that can be done by the client is an opportunity to reduce the billable hours and lower the overall legal costs.

Evidence

In order to reduce the cost of storage, all evidence and other documentation for a legal matter will be scanned; with copies of the scans held by both PALaw and the client.  The orginal documents will be returned to the client who will keep them secure and availabe should the courts require that the original documents be produced.  PALaw will keep signed copies of contracts, wills, agreements, settlements and other instruments where appropriate.

Offices and Meeting Space

In order to keep the overhead costs low, PALaw is currently operating out of a 'home office'. Solicitor/client and other meetings will be conducted at the home office, a rented meeting space, the client's home, or any other mutually agreeable location.
